What people hate about commute & traffic

4 real pain points mentioning "commute", "traffic", "subway". 8 upvotes total.

Every pain on PainMap that mentions "commute", "traffic", "subway" โ€” 4 entries, ranked by urgency.

Topic hubs cut across PainMap horizontally. Instead of "what do people in Germany complain about" or "everything in the Health category", a topic hub asks: "what do people complain about when they mention commute & traffic?" 4 pain points match, with 8 total upvotes.

We build the match by scanning the title and description of every submission for any of these terms: "commute", "traffic", "subway", "bus", "metro". That's intentionally loose โ€” it catches both the obvious phrasings and the adjacent ones, since people don't all describe the same frustration with the same words. The trade-off is that occasionally an entry shows up here because of incidental wording. The ranking pushes those down: low-quality, low-vote, low-urgency entries naturally drift to the bottom.

Not many entries mention commute & traffic yet. If this is a frustration in your own life, you'd be one of the first to log it โ€” and the page will get more useful as it fills.

For founders and product people: the "willingness to pay" column on each pain card matters more than upvotes. Upvotes mean "this annoys me too". Willingness to pay means "I would actually open my wallet for a fix". The two are correlated but not the same โ€” some of the highest-upvoted pains have very low willingness to pay (people enjoy complaining about them more than they want them solved) and some of the highest-paying pains have modest upvote counts because they only hurt a niche.

For everyone else: this is just a window into what people are quietly fed up with. No takes, no opinions, no listicle. Just the list.

The presence of illegal parking attendants and unofficial

The presence of illegal parking attendants and unofficial traffic wardens, known as pak ogah, has become an overwhelming fixture of Jakartaโ€™s urban landscape. These individuals often take over public roads and commercial storefronts, demanding fees for "services" that are neither authorized by the city nor technically voluntary. Despite collecting money from motorists, they provide zero formal contribution to city revenue or public safety infrastructure. This lack of accountability is most evident when theft occurs; if a helmet is stolen or a vehicle goes missing, these attendants invariably refuse to take any responsibility. Ultimately, their presence creates a one-sided system where drivers pay for a sense of security that is entirely non-existent.

Frustration โ‰  Consumption

What I was trying to do: Explain why a catalog of human frustrations doesn't make for good business ideas. What went wrong: Inexperienced founders hear "solve a problem" and start building. They don't see the value of good customer discovery interviews and well designed validation experiments. Worst part: Founders building things with AI but don't understand the fundamental limitations of the tools, nor the nature of the problems they're trying to solve

Startup idea finder

What I was trying to do: Figuring out what product to build What went wrong: Every guru gives me different advice, and I don't know what my tech startup should be, and i want to launch something but I don't have an idea, and I think with ai i can figure it out. Worst part: I don't know how to figure out whether a problem is big enough, urgent enough, or important enough to warrant building a business around the solution.
